Viewing life from different angles is one subject that I find incredibly interesting. It is one reason why I love the HSBC airport ads; and why I adore the Six Characters played by Pirandello so much; and why I am so interested in the theories of socialisation and different identities in different situations. Take my advice and read up about this subject!

Let's come back to the multiple identities as this is something that affects every one of us. I am female, so I am seen as a woman (I hope!) by many people. I have a son, so I am primarily thought of as a mother by him; and my mother sees me firstly as her daughter.

I am a different person – or rather I am seen with a different identity – for different people. Some people may identify me by gender and I found this happened often when I was doing a job which was classed as a 'male' profession. (more...)
